Experience Program
Rias Baixas
Salnés Peninsula
The Salnés region is located between the estuaries of Arousa and Pontevedra; and it is home to some of the best known places and towns of the Rias Baixas: Carril, Vilagarcía, A Illa, Cambados, O Grove, Sanxenxo or Combarro among others. An area of incredible fishing and agricultural productivity where we have chosen a series of authentic experiences. Our collaborators will help you to know and enjoy landscapes and flavors. Atlantic Galicia in its purest form.
Day 1: Arrival to Rías Baixas (Salnés area).
Check-in and time to relax, rest and enjoy the facilities and gastronomy of our magnificent accommodation. It will be our home for the next few days.
Day 2: Boat trip along Ría de Arousa - Fishing techniques - Pazo de Rubianes
Today we will make an absolute immersion in the culture and landscape of the Rías Baixas. First thing in the morning we embark in the Illa de Arousa with the captain of the motorboat that will make us an incredible tour of the Ria de Arousa, learning about the fishing and seafood collecting techniques, understanding the eco-system of this coast, enjoying the scenery and even tasting some of the products that the Ría gives us. Surely, you will not forget it. In the afternoon, and without hurry, we will visit the most fascinating garden of the Salnés peninsula, the Pazo de Rubianes. It has the distinction of International Garden of Excellence, with over 4,500 camellia specimens, as well as an incredible botanical variety and the most extensive vineyard of this region. Of course we will have the opportunity to taste their wine. Return to our hotel.
Day 3: Cambados - Live cooking - Winery / Tasting - Pontevedra
Today we start the day with a pleasant walk through Cambados, capital of Albariño, and town full of history where we will discover among other things the interior of the Pazo de Fefiñanes in private visit. Once finished the tour we go in search of Rocio, cook and blogger, with whom we will learn to cook and eat like real Galicians. A good opportunity to learn not only recipes but also the keys to the culinary tradition of this land. After a little post-meal relaxation we will make a short trip to the vineyard of a local family, where they will explain us all about the wine culture in the area, known mainly for the Albariño but where you will also discover other varieties. We leave for the late afternoon a tour of the old town of Pontevedra, at the time when the bustle of the locals fills its beautiful squares.
Day 4: Breakfast and farewell.
We end our stay looking forward to returning soon and discovering new experiences. If you have some time to spare before we return, we will be happy to suggest any additional activities or visits.
